Manav Arora.

I build data platforms, bring AI into everyday work and design how systems fit together. I start with what people need—then work towards less manual effort, clearer information and tools they can actually use.

TIME BACK FOR ENGINEERS

BEFORE

1 day

AFTER

2 min

Less setup. More time to build.

DATA / AUTOMATION

20 tables.
Two minutes.

I built a reusable metadata workflow in Microsoft Fabric and Python, so engineers can prepare new source tables without repeating detailed manual configuration.

ResultUp to a full developer day for two large tables. The workflow now generates metadata for 20 tables in two minutes.

What needed to change
For some large tables, preparing metadata for just two could take an entire developer day. Engineers had to repeat detailed configuration work for every table.
What I built
I developed reusable metadata-generation workflows and API templates that produce the configuration needed to onboard source tables.
Why this approach
I made the preparation reusable across tables, so the same workflow could handle repeated setup. The value is the engineering time returned as more tables are added.
What changed
The workflow now generates metadata for 20 tables in two minutes. That timing covers metadata preparation; it is one part of the wider ingestion process.

AI / IMPLEMENTATION LEADERSHIP

Bringing AI into
everyday data work.

I’m leading AI implementation in the data space at the University of Newcastle, including Copilot. I architected a documentation generator to help teams understand a system’s purpose, behaviour and operational context.

ProgressThe documentation generator is approved and has passed manual testing. Production rollout is next.

What needed to change
Code alone does not tell a Business Analyst or a new engineer why a notebook exists or how it fits into the work around it. Teams need an understandable starting point.
My contribution
I architected an AI-powered documentation workflow and progressed it through approval and manual testing, alongside the wider Copilot implementation work I lead.
The design focus
The goal is documentation that connects purpose, processing and outputs. It should help people understand a system before they need to work through its implementation.
Where it stands
The solution is approved and manual testing has been successful. Production rollout is next; time saved and ongoing adoption still need to be evaluated.

SAFER CHANGE / DESIGN INTENT

BEFORE

AFTER

Safer change

Designing for quality and security.

ARCHITECTURE / DELIVERY & GOVERNANCE

Designing for
safer change.

I designed a CI/CD approach for data-platform changes and an architecture for AI-use security, bringing quality checks, governance and release controls into the plan before changes reach users.

StageCI/CD design with selected checks tested. AI security architecture at design stage.

The challenge
Platform changes and new AI capabilities need clear answers about quality, security, approvals and operational responsibility.
My contribution
I architected a CI/CD approach covering automated quality and security checks, environments and release controls. I also designed an approach to AI-use security and governance.
Why this approach
I designed checks and release controls as part of the delivery path, giving teams a repeatable approach to consider before implementing platform changes.
Where it stands
The CI/CD design is complete, with selected automated checks trialled. The AI security architecture is at design stage. Operational benefits still need to be validated during implementation.

LINZARA / EARLY PRODUCT

BEFORE

Uncertain fit

Clearer choices

The clarity I wished I had.

PRODUCT / LINZARA

A problem I lived.
A solution for others.

I know the uncertainty of looking for work while trying to understand where your work rights fit. I founded Linzara to give other international candidates the clarity I wished I’d had.

ProgressA working product, early user testing and an approved university pilot pathway.

Explore Linzara
Read the story
Where it started
I experienced the uncertainty around finding suitable jobs and understanding how work rights affect opportunities. Other international candidates face the same barriers, while employers need clarity too.
What I’m building
Linzara is a visa-aware jobs platform. As founder, I bring together customer discovery, solution design, the application, cloud infrastructure and AI-assisted features.
Thinking beyond my own experience
I wanted to address uncertainty on both sides of hiring. The product brings skills and work-rights information into the picture before someone applies, helping candidates and employers make more informed choices.
Where it stands
Linzara is a working product with early user testing and an approved university pilot pathway. Hiring outcomes and sustained adoption are still being established.

02 / ABOUT ME

Technical depth.
A wider lens.

PeopleTechnologyPurpose
Connect the whole. Make it useful.

I care about the gap between what technology can do and what people can actually use.

At the University of Newcastle, I work across data platforms, AI implementation and solution architecture. Building Linzara alongside that work keeps me close to another perspective: the person choosing whether a product is worth using.

Understand the friction.
I start with what people need to do and where they get stuck.
Connect the whole.
I consider the data, systems and delivery around a solution together.
Make adoption part of the design.
I aim to fit the workflow, keep the steps simple and make the benefit obvious.
